Short version: SoundEQ does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. It has no servers, no user accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, and no advertising. Everything SoundEQ does happens locally on your PC — nothing you do in SoundEQ is ever sent off your device by the app.
Gear Shadow Games ("we", "us", "our") develops SoundEQ, an equalizer for Windows. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information when you use it.
SoundEQ is an equalizer. To apply an equalizer to sound, it reads audio that is already playing on your PC (from the system, a virtual audio cable, or a specific application you choose), applies your equalizer settings to it in real time, and plays the adjusted audio back to your speakers or headphones.
SoundEQ saves your preferences locally so the app works the way you left it. These files are stored on your own PC under %AppData%\SoundEQ and are never uploaded:
You can delete all of this at any time by removing the %AppData%\SoundEQ folder, or by uninstalling SoundEQ.
Some SoundEQ features work by changing Windows audio settings. SoundEQ only does this in response to an explicit action you take in the app, and it reverses the change when you stop or close the app:
None of these settings are personal information, and none are transmitted anywhere.
SoundEQ does not require you to create an account and does not ask for your name, email address, password, or login details. It shows no ads, includes no advertising or analytics SDKs, and does not use your activity for ad targeting or profiling.
Per-application and system-wide EQ can use a virtual audio cable (for example, VB-Audio VB-Cable), which is separate software not developed by us. If it is not installed, SoundEQ can open the vendor's download page in your web browser so you can choose to install it. Opening that page is the only time SoundEQ causes your device to contact the internet, and it does so by launching your browser — SoundEQ itself sends no data. If you purchase SoundEQ Pro, the "Buy Pro" button likewise opens our checkout page (hosted by Lemon Squeezy) in your browser; any information you enter there is handled by that provider under its own privacy policy. Any software you install or purchases you make separately are governed by that software or provider's own policies and terms.
SoundEQ does not access, collect, use, store, or share any personal information, and does not disclose any information to third parties. Because SoundEQ collects and transmits nothing, there is no personal data for you to request, correct, or delete beyond the local preference files described above, which you fully control.
SoundEQ is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
Because SoundEQ keeps everything on your device and transmits nothing, your audio and settings are never exposed to any network, server, or third party by the app. Your local preference files are protected by your own Windows user account and file permissions.
You can delete all data SoundEQ stores by removing the %AppData%\SoundEQ folder, or by uninstalling SoundEQ through Windows in the normal way. This removes your saved profiles, per-app settings, preferences, and license key from your PC.
If SoundEQ's functionality changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of SoundEQ after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
